SCOPE OF POSITION I RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Process Engineer / Project Manager is responsible for defining the methods and responsibilities for planning and executing the activities required for product realization and to ensure that customer specific requirements are obtained, understood, distributed, and incorporated into appropriate stages of product realization. Such activities are referred to as Advanced Product Quality Planning, (APQP) and are completed for new products and changes to existing products.
This is achieved through effective performance of the following processes:
• Working with customers on project or program issues.
• Providing technical advice to customers on project and or program issues.
• Participating in quotes for engineering changes and new programs.
• Provide technical support to production personnel.
• To maximize uptime and reduce bottlenecks.
• To facilitate buyoff and manage documentation required for shipment.
• To lead and manage APOP activities.
• Process BOM’s for materials needed to complete job/project.
• Maintain prints, document information, and any other customer or supplier data used during a given job/project.
• Create routers for instructions needed to complete job/project.
• Work with quality personnel to create PFMEA, PFLOW, and Control Plans.
• Work with Manufacturing floor to assist on tooling issues, manufacturing processes, and any engineering concerns that may come up.
• Process 2003/Contract Review forms.
• To report all Near Misses or Accidents to Supervisor.
• To report any unsafe act to upper management immediately to assure all employees are working in a safe manner.
COMPETENCY:
The Education, Training, and or experience requirements for the Process Engineer / Project
Manager:
1. Leadership ability.
2. Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent job experience.
3. Ability to problem-solve.
4. Have prior management experience.
5. Ability to work with people and generate a positive attitude.
6. Possess professional customer relations skills.
7. High degree of technical expertise in all related areas of the manufacturing process.
8. The BUM / Engineering Manager will have the ultimate control in determining the qualifications for the Project Manager.
