Sr. Digital Communications Engineer
We are looking for a talented individual to join the Signal Processing Systems Engineering Team in the DSP Center of Excellence (COE). Specifically, the position is for a Senior Digital Communications Engineer.

This person will possess a range of skills that encompass both broad and deep expertise in the digital communications application space at the systems level in addition to having the skills required to implement the various functions in these systems. The successful candidate will be working in an engineering team that is developing FPGA-based intellectual property to address state-of-the-art wireless and wired communications requirements. The position will also involve working directly with customers to develop FPGA-based communication systems. In addition, the position requires exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, that will be utilized in direct customer engagements in addition to our internal training programs for various segments of the company.

We are an international company and our signal processing customer base extends across all sections of the globe. As such, the person filling this challenging position should be prepared to travel and participate in customer activities in all parts of the world.

Required: 5+ years experience designing digital communication systems (software defined radio, 3G Wireless, MODEM, DOCSIS, QAM mod/demod, adaptive systems, synchronization, control systems, xDSL technologies, FEC, OFDM, MIMO, space-time coding)
" 5+ years designing and implementing FPGA-based signal processing systems
" Excellent written and verbal communication skills
" Theoretical and practical knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP), including digital filters, FFTs, DCTs, FEC, fixed-point implementation of DSP data paths, digital communications. - Fluent in C/C++ and Matlab and Simulink
" Specify, design and verify complex core modules,(math cores, DSP cores plus other complex cores) using HDL - Specify, design, and verify supporting reference designs for the complex core modules
" Create support documentation (data sheets, user guides, application notes, etc.) for the cores products
" Assist s/w engineering (or other dependent organizations) during integration phase of projects, i.e. integration testing and/or software flow testing.
" Assist engineering management and marketing to specify future core products and future product enhancements
" Assist in developing product rollout plans, generating resource charts, schedule timelines, dependencies, etc.

Desired: PhD or MSEE preferred. System level design experience with DSP, communications Project management experience 10 years Digital Communications experience 5 years FPGA experience preferred, but candidates without an FPGA background but possessing the above listed signal processing skills should still apply.
