Job Description
This company is seeking an FPGA Design specialist for an immediate opening in our Embedded Engineering design team. As a member of the engineering team, you must have extensive knowledge and/or experience designing and developing with VHDL and/or Verilog, and FPGAs. You must be familiar with CAE tool methodology for schematic entry, HDL coding, code compiling, simulation, synthesis, and routing. You must possess good written and verbal communication and people skills as you will work closely with hardware and software engineers performing co-design, participating in design reviews, and providing design documentation. B.S. in Electrical / Computer Engineering or equivalent experience. 5+ years with FPGA development tools (ModelSim, Xilinx) 5+ years in VHDL and/or Verilog design, simulation, testbench development 5+ years with general logic design (control and interfaces) 3+ years with basic lab test equipment; oscilloscope, analyzers, generators Experience with microprocessor bus interfaces and protocols (e.g. PowerPC) Experience working with Xilinx FPGAs (Virtex 2, 4, 5) Design experience with DDR/DDRII SRAM, DRAM, and SerDes I/O General programming skills, C/C++, scripting would be a plus Windows and Linux OS familiarity Good Design Documentation practices (specifications, state diagrams, design description, theory of operation)
