shall conduct security evaluations of state-of-the-art design circuits in a secure IA solutions as well as reverse engineering of microelectronic devices in support of these evaluations. Tasks shall include, but not be limited to: â• a Devising and conducting experiments to research, evaluate, test, and enhance the security performance of FPGA designs, Integrated Circuits (IC), Application Specific Integrated Circuits, and programming tools, to include all associated hardware boards and software â• a Implementing and testing designs on FPGA, Integrated Circuits (IC), Application Specific Integrated Circuits chips, boards and systems â• a Instructing others (as directed) on how to use FPGA, Integrated Circuits (IC), Application Specific Integrated Circuits tools, boards and systems â• a Documenting experiments and results through written reports and oral presentations â• a Attending conferences and meetings, as required, to support the microelectronics research tasks â• a Reverse engineering microelectronics to evaluate system security â• a Experienced FPGA, IC, and ASIC design engineer â• a Expertise in the use of the following: o FPGA and Integrated Circuits (IC) software and programming, design, operation, and application o The VDHL design language and the C programming language o FPGA synthesis tools, such as Synplify from Synplicity; FPGA simulation tools, such as ModelSim from Mentor Graphics, and FPGA fitter tools, such as Alliance from Xilinx o Circuit design, layout, fabrication, and troubleshooting â• a Experience with UNIX â• a Experience with design tools â• a Experience with C/C++ and JAVA programming â• a Experience in VHDL, exposure to Verilog â• a Substantial experience with Virtex and Stratix FPGA families â• a Experience with Xilinx embedded PowerPC and Altera Nios â• a Experience with Ethernet and USB communication protocols â• a Experience with circuit analysis hardware â• a Balanced mix of hardware and software experience
