JOB DESCRIPTION: 

This position will allow hands-on technical web application development. Our platform is primarily Solaris 10 with Sybase and MySQL as DBMSs and Java/J2EE. Additionally the candidate will have opportunities to develop SW to support a diverse array of technologies on those systems from simple HTML,CSS, JSP, and Java/J2EE to client applets. Sybase and/or MySQL. Candidate must possess a current TOP SECRET/SCI clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation in order to be considered for employment.

DESIRED SKILLS: 

Some experience with AAF/MXF or any of the following will be very desirable: Motion imagery, video formats and basic image processing JPEG2000 imagery compression technologies MPEG video and audio compression technologies. Working experience in integrating GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, Google Earth or similar tools) into applications will be very helpful. Experience in Service Oriented Architecture implementation (e.g., designing and implementing web services) is highly desirable. Familiarity with DIICOE requirements and implementation will be helpful. Experience in developing web application in one of these web hosting technologies: Apache/Tomcat and/or Weblogic will be helpful.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS: 

Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and 8+ years of web development experience. Experience must be hands-on, current or recent (last hands-on experience not more than two years ago). Candidates should have a proven history of strong customer focus and disciplined software development processes in the creation of both small and large dynamic web applications. Must have DYNAMIC web development skills: HTML, XHTML, XML and one of more of script languages: Perl, PHP, CGI, JavaSripts. Java and/or C++ skills will be needed.
