Senior Hardware Engineer
Responsibilities for this position are focused on the Silicon Design and Validation of the chips for the XBox 360 and next generation XBox systems. - Be part of cost reduction ASIC programs to evaluate cost reduction opportunities. Work as part of design team to shape the micro-architecture of the chip from reset sequencing, clocking scheme, IP integration, testability and debug features. - Write chip specifications, RTL implementation, and help silicon tape-out by one or more phases of the design - synthesis, Static Timing Analysis (STA), formal verification, FPGA validation etc. - Interaction with architecture teams to come up with micro-architecture for next generation silicon, help write RFP/SOWs, evaluate and make IP/Vendor recommendations - Interaction with system engineering team to ensure that silicon conforms to the system timing and electrical specifications. Interact with silicon operations team to support chip characterization, qualification, and ATE testing. - Be a critical part of shaping the chip bringup plan, and ensure that the plan is consistent across all the chips on the system. Work with software teams to define the test application requirements to stress all aspects of the design - Help debug issues to root causes leading to revision tapeouts, and be a part of a team carrying chips all the way through to production. - Occasional travel may be required
Requirements - BS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field with 10+ years of experience - Proven track record of successful design and validation of complex multi-million gate ASICs of designs in leading-edge technology - Strong experience in RTL design, Sythesis, STA, Formal Verification - Exposure to ASIC physical design or FPGA validation is a plus - Strong background in system (PC) architecture, knowledge of industry standard bus interfaces (PCIe, PCI, USB, SATA, SPI etc) and memory interface - Experience with post-silicon validation and high speed analyzers, scopes, chillers and other test equipment - Strong technical background - Leadership ability, and strong interpersonal skills - Self-starter with good organizational ability, including attention to detail
