General Comments:

Overview: The qualified applicant will formulate specification, design, and develop real time, embedded processor hardware designs and should have a minimum of a BSEE degree and 8 years design experience. Individually contribute to, and serve as the lead designer, in the development of a hardware product from the design phase through the field sustaining phase. This would encompass: Circuit Design and analysis using schematic capture and FPGA design tools; PCB layout; Prototype verification using lab instrumentation and with PC-based development tools; Supporting regulatory approval; Manufacturing introduction and sustaining; Must be able to work in a team environment with manufacturing and other engineering disciplines such as system, software, and mechanical; and must be able to work with internal and external contract developers. An advanced knowledge of logic design and firmware development practices is required. Job Duties: Key areas of expertise would include High Speed Digital Hardware design, which would include Embedded Processor Hardware design for portable product (battery operated) products and systems, and experience coding for StrongARM, ARM, Intel XScale, Atmel AVR, and TI C55xx DSPs is preferred. DSP coding and algorithm development experience in filtering and processing, digital data processing and digital modulation techniques for wireless communication products is also preferred. Job Qualifications: Processes strong interpersonal skills. Strong communication skills - oral, written and presentation. Will work with the design team, other cross functional teams and suppliers to ensure his or her overall design and each specified sub-system meets all requirements.
