Overview: Our client has an opportunity for a principle FPGA/DSP Engineer in our Clarksburg, MD facility. As a core member of the FPGA team, you will be responsible for carrying out design, simulation and implementation RTL modules for MODEM signal processing algorithms, MHAL(Modem Abstract Layer) and various device interfaces. You will also be participating in system-level design, requirement allocations, design reviews, technical briefings, technology demonstrations. Additionally, you will be working closely with software/hardware engineers to perform integration, testing and debugging to ensure the functionality and performance. Job Duties: (1) Participate in system-level design, requirements (2) Design and implement FPGA-based signal processing algorithm, various HW interfaces (3) Perform product integration, test and debugging (4) Technical briefings, technology demonstrations. Job Qualifications: (1) Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and able to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. A currently active U.S. security clearance is a plus. (2) MSEE with 5+ years or BS with 8+ years experience in FPGA firmware development (3) Proficient in Verilog and VHDL RTL programming, synthesis and timing analysis (4) Solid understanding of communication theory and system level design (5) Knowledge of MATLAB simulation, C/C++ programming and MODEM/Channel Coding algorithm design are highly desirable (6) Hands-on experience in debugging real-time FPGA firmware (7) Good Technical Writing/Verbal Communication is a plus
